What is Private Credit?

Private credit is an asset class comprised of higher yielding, illiquid investment opportunities that covers a range of risk/return profiles. This includes debt that is secured and senior in the capital structure with fixed income-like characteristics and distressed debt that has very equity like risk and returns. This opportunity set can be accessed through a number of different vehicles, including open-end and closed-end comingled funds, private and public BDCs, and CLOs, amongst others.
