Woo will lead the Los Angeles office for Monroe Capital and be responsible for covering the West Coast region.

Specific targets will include companies with strong management teams generating more than $3 million in annual EBITDA.

Theodore L. Koenig, Partner and Managing Director of Monroe Capital Partners Fund LP, said, “We are very fortunate to have Warren Woo join our team. He is an exceptional individual with a great reputation in the private equity and investment banking communities. Warren has been one of the most successful and respected bankers on the West Coast over his 22-year career. He has acted as an advisor in more than $25 billion of transactions while serving the private investment industry’s leading financial sponsors, as well as many public and private companies.”

Most recently, Woo was a Founding Partner and Managing Director at Moelis & Company. Prior to that role, he was Vice Chairman and a member of the Board of Directors at UBS Investment Bank. He also was the Global Head of Financial Sponsors, Hedge Funds and Leveraged Finance at UBS. He received his MBA from Stanford University Graduate School of Business in 1986 and his BA from UCLA in 1982. Woo is also an owner of the National Hockey League’s Nashville Predators Hockey Club.

Mr. Woo said, “What attracted me to Monroe Capital was their reputation as one of the premier capital providers to middle-market companies. My new partners, on average, have over 20 years experience of successfully deploying capital to such companies. With our new fund, we can provide the entire debt capital solution, including senior and junior/mezzanine debt and equity co-investments.
